User Administration

If you have been provided permissions to add or delete users, as well as add or remove user permissions and user group association, you will have access to the User Administration area under the Admin menu.

Create a New User

To create a new user, click the Create New User button, and enter the information requested.  The Username will be the unique id that identifies the user, and with which they will login.  After entering the information and clicking Create, the user will receive an email at the email address entered which provides them more information to help them login.  After adding the user, you will also be asked to assign them to a user group.  See more information about user groups at https://support.lityxiq.com/394766-User-Group-Administration.

Updating User Permissions

To update the permissions available to a user, click the user's name in the user list, and select Update User Permissions from the Selected User menu or the right click menu.

This will open a dialog which displays all permissions available in LityxIQ.  Select the ones for which you would like this user to have access.  NOTE: it is a muich better practice to provide permissions at the user group level (see https://support.lityxiq.com/394766-User-Group-Administration), and put individual users into specific user groups (see below).  This is a much easier way to manage permissions, while accounting for people whose permissions needs change over time.

 

Updating a User's Groups

To update the groups to which a user belongs, click the user's name in the user list, and select Update User Group Association from the Selected User menu or the right click menu.

This will open a dialog that allows you to select (or deselect) the groups to which this user should belong.

 

Users will have access to all the permissions allowed for the groups they are in, and for their individually allowed permissions.
